John Towler is a BACP accredited
Counsellor and Supervisor, and is an Associate member of the Association
of Humanistic Psychology Practitioners. He is a Senior Consultant
in Roehampton University of Surrey’s Consulting & Training
Unit and a Consultant to Humanitas, a Human Relations Consultancy.
As a Trainer he has extensive experience of organisational settings.
John has been a warden of a Residential Centre in the voluntary
sector, director of a counselling service and a senior lecturer
at a tertiary college. His publications are practice based in the
field of employee development and training.
His strengths are in the design
and delivery of programmes in coaching, counselling, mentoring and
supervision and in the delivery of these processes. He has extensive
organisational experience working with over fifty organisations
including, British Rail, British Telecom, Metropolitan Police, Citibank,
Hampshire County Council, Home Office, National Federation of Housing
Associations, Nat West Bank, London Fire Brigade, Schroeders PLC,
Royal College of Nursing and the Thomas Cook Group.
John has a particular interest in
Supervision in organisations which is expressed in his publications
in this field. As part of his own ongoing professional development
and training he is engaged in both personal therapy and personal
supervision. He is a member of the British Association for Supervision
Practice and Research and has both general and Gestalt training
in Supervision. For the past ten years he has acted as an organisational
supervisor and consultant for the Department of Occupational Health
of the Metropolitan Police.
He taught on the first EAP Diploma
Course for the EAP Professional and is interested in the development
of training in this field. As a result he offers unique perspectives
on developments in the UK.
